It's been a while since fans got to see Janine Berdin, who won the second season of "Tawag ng Tanghalan," perform on live television, leading to online chatter ranging from worry to rumors about her getting plastic surgery.
This Tuesday, the singer finally decided to break her silence and clarified that she had been absent from "It's Showtime" and "ASAP Natin 'To" because she was diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrome.

According to medical websites, Cushing's Syndrome is a disorder when the body produces too much "stress hormones," which helps control blood pressure. While that may sound positive and it can be cured, excess of it, though, can lead to a heart attack or stroke.
In her lengthy post, Berdin explained that it was early September when she was found to have had "vocal modules." But trying to treat it only led to her developing Cushing's Syndrome, she said.
“Kaya po namamaga mukha ko," she wrote. "Hindi po ako nagparetoke at alam ko po na hawig ko si Chuckie. At least hindi na ako mukhang undin 'di ba? Charot."
